What a 50×80 Gives You
A 50×80 building provides 4,000 square feet of footprint. For private pickleball, that can provide a generous single-court environment with room for circulation, seating, storage or fitness space depending on interior clear dimensions.
The Court Lines Are Not the Building Size
Players need runoff beyond the painted playing lines. Walls, posts, doors and equipment should remain outside the active area. Multi-court commercial facilities generally require substantially more width and circulation than a private one-court barn.
Height, Lighting and Acoustics
Lobs require unobstructed vertical space. Lighting should be uniform without fixtures sitting in troublesome sight lines. Metal interiors can be acoustically lively, so busy facilities may benefit from acoustic treatment.
Plan Support Areas Early
If you want a bathroom, lounge, equipment room, workout zone or golf simulator, reserve that square footage before sizing the court area.
